 | Jeff Essic, Chair Jeff earned a BS in Conservation in 1994 and an MS in Natural Resources/GIS in 1997, both from NC State University. He has worked since 2002 for NC State as a GIS and Data Librarian. |
 | Donald Belk, Secretary Don is a land planner with over 30 years of experience in conservation planning and farmland preservation. |
 | Talmage Brown Talmage is a Professor Emeritus of Pathology, College of Veterinary Medicine, NC State. Following retirement in 2008, Talmage has worked on rebuilding an 1818 plantation house at his legacy farm, manages a 100 acre certified tree farm, and serves as a member of a team sponsoring a Burmese refugee sustainable farming project on a 2.5 acre field at his farm. |

| Marilyn Grolitzer, Advisor Dr. Marilyn Grolitzer has a PhD in organic chemistry. Her career was in the chemical industry leading scientific research on the development and commercialization of specialty chemicals and polymers for a wide range of commercial markets. After taking an early retirement Marilyn has devoted her time and energy to education, conservation and protection of our natural resources, wildlife and the environment. She has served as an Associate Board member to the Wake County Soil and Water Conservation District for over 15 years and was a founding member of Friends of the District. She previously served on the board for the Neuse River Foundation. Marilyn is currently serving on the Board of Advisors for the JC Raulston Arboretum at NCSU. For almost 20 years, Marilyn has been a devoted volunteer educator, program and project leader, for the NC State Extension Master Gardener program of Wake County. She has co-authored numerous publications and continues to develop tools and resources to help Wake County residents use best research based practices in their gardens. |
