Help support our mission to protect the natural resources of Wake County!

The Friends of the Wake Soil and Water Conservation District (FOD) is a 501-c-3 non profit (EIN: 27-3900318), formed in 2012, to support the Wake Soil and Water Conservation District and its programs and activities which are not fully funded by grants or Wake County government. FOD relies almost entirely on individual donations. As an all volunteer group, 100% of your donations to FOD goes to support these efforts which include;

  • Providing full scholarships to high school students to attend the Resource Conservation Workshops at NC State University to inspire them to pursue careers in resource conservation and protection,
  • Materials and supplies for youth educational programs and contests including Envirothon middle and high school teams and annual Conservation Poster contest for 4th and 5th grade students,
  • Volunteer support for Wake County Big Sweep clean-ups
