and our 75th Anniversary!
Soil and Water Conservation Districts are 75 years old next month. The very first district in the nation was here in NC in what is now Anson County. It was the Brown Creek Soil and Water Conservation District. We now have 96 districts in NC, led by 492 elected and appointed citizens.
In recognition of this momentous 75th anniversary, the governor has proclaimed August to be Soil and Water Conservation Awareness month.
