For 26 seasons, Wake Soil and Water Conservation District has organized and hosted National Big Sweep.
This year over 1000 volunteers removed 18,881 pounds of debris from 24 Wake County watersheds!

Wake SWCD leads the way with organizing and galvanizing 100’s of volunteers each year to clean up Wake County Waterways during Big Sweep.

The Friends of Wake Soil & Water Conservation District congratulate the NC Envirothon Champions, Team Sub-Chronic Exposure, and wish them good luck at Nationals this week in Pennsylvania.
They will compete with all 50 states and 8 provinces of Canada.
One agenda item stood out as five teens stood up at the June 18th board meeting of the Wake County Commissioners.
Sub-Chronic Exposure, a team from Enloe High School in Raleigh, earned the title of “State Champion” at the 2012 NC Envirothon. Continue reading
